Each year, more than 80,000 reports of child abuse are filed in Washington State. Nationwide, some 906,000 children are victimized and 1,500 die from abuse every year—that’s just over four fatalities a day—and many researchers believe that abuse and neglect is under reported by as much as 60%.
For all these reasons and more, Children’s Trust Foundation provides grants and other resources to Family Support Centers across Washington. We advocate for improved laws, systems and support mechanisms that help strengthen families, communities, and our society. In addition, we support public awareness programs that help families understand how they can become strong and healthy.
