CREATING A WORLD WITHOUT CHILD ABUSE & NEGLECT
Our community-based partners create and implement programs that provide parents and other caregivers with Parent Education & Support. These programs include education about child development and support that helps parents and caregivers cope with stress, economic hardship, and social isolation. We focus on these programs because national research shows that they are effective in preventing child abuse and neglect.
The families we have served include nearly 30,000 parents and children from families in 13 counties that represent more than 25 language groups, families impacted by domestic violence and poverty, fathers, mothers, grandparents, single-parents, families with special-needs children, and many more.
Your gifts directly support these families and others who live in communities that lack vital child abuse prevention programs.
Thank you.
“Family support centers work with communities in ways that respect their language, culture, religion, and personal history. Programs that incorporate this value give parents the opportunity to change their lives and the lives of their family in meaningful and long lasting ways.” Winnie Corral, Familias Unidas Program Manager and Children’s Trust Board Member

$228 provides child abuse prevention classes to a parent seeking support. $518 provides this programming to an entire family.
Every year, nearly 80,000 reports of abuse and neglect occur in Washington. 8 out of 10 of these cases can be prevented if these families receive Parent Education & Support before they reach a crisis.
Join us to provide this much-need support to Washington families.
