Children's Trust is dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect in Washington State by strengthening families and ensuring the healthy development of children.
No child suffers from abuse or neglect because his or her caregivers could not find support.
For 27 years, Children’s Trust has focused on one goal: preventing child abuse and neglect across Washington State before it begins.
In Washington State alone, nearly 80,000 reports of child abuse occur annually. 20% of these are self-reported by parents who have nowhere to turn to for support. The Washington State Childhood Injury Report found that 8 out of 10 cases of child abuse can be prevented.
National research shows that families who receive education about their child's development and support that helps them cope with stress, economic hardship, and social isolation are more likely to prevent child abuse from occurring in their homes. Children's Trust Parent Education & Support Programs offer parents this very support before abuse begins.
We create a world without child abuse and neglect by making Parent Education & Support available and accessible to all Washington families. Through our state-wide network of partners, we ensure that families find effective, research-supported services in the communities where they live. Over the years we have reached nearly 30,000 parents and children, teaching generations of families how to prevent abuse and neglect.
We are a network of people, all uniquely invested in preventing child abuse and neglect. Learn more about who we are.
